Grounded by Gratitude

Finding Steadiness When Life Feels Unsteady
The storms and battles in life tend to come at us when we least expect them. One moment everything is calm and peaceful, and the next, plans fall apart, people disappoint us, prayers seem unanswered, and the weight of trying to keep everything together grows heavier with every passing day. In those moments, we easily lose sight of all of the good in our lives. Gratitude can feel like a foreign language. How can we be thankful when everything seems to be going wrong?

But here’s the genuine truth: gratitude is not a denial of the battle but a decision to be grounded in God’s faithfulness despite trials. It’s the position that keeps us grounded when the chaos threatens to take control. It’s the reminder that even in the middle of it all, we are not abandoned, forgotten, or defenseless.

Gratitude Is a Weapon
The enemy is sneaky and his strategy is simple: if he can’t steal your blessings, he’ll try to blind you to them. He whispers those lies that make you believe your life is falling apart, that God doesn’t hear you, that nothing will ever change, that everyone else has so much more than you. But gratitude exposes those lies.

When we choose to say, “Lord, thank you,” even when it’s hard and the tears continue to fall, something begins to shift. Gratitude helps our vision. It reminds our hearts that God has already carried us through things we thought would break us. It reminds us of God’s continuous provision, of open doors we never believed we would walk through, of the multitude of answered prayers that continues to shape our story.

Every breath we take is a blessing.
Every morning we rise is new mercy.
Every step forward is evidence that God is still at work.

Blessings Don’t Disappear in the Storm
Storms may rage, but they don’t wash out the blessings. In fact, storms often ignite blessings.

In the discomfort, we are more in tune to God’s comfort.
In the uncertainty, we better notice God’s unchanging character.
In weakness, His strength becomes undeniable.

When everything seems to be going wrong, leaning into gratitude helps us recognize what’s still right.
We still have purpose.

We still have breath.

We still have hope.

We still have a God who remains the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Hard days does not erase the goodness of God.

Don’t Let the Enemy Shrink Your Blessings
The enemy wants you to focus so much on the storms and the battles that you forget the Savior is in the boat with you. He wants the size of your battles to overshadow the size of your blessings. But gratitude turns the tables. It magnifies God over everything else.

When you pause and count what God has done for you day in and day out, you start to see the truth: you are surrounded by blessings the enemy cannot touch.

Even on your worst day, you are still loved, chosen, protected, and wrapped in purpose.

Gratitude Doesn’t Minimize Your Struggle
You don’t have to pretend the struggle isn’t real. But you also don’t have to let the struggle distract you from God’s goodness. Gratitude brings a healthy balance to the battle. It calms the heart. It reminds you that God is still here and He is still good and He is fighting for you.

And that small perspective shift may be exactly what carries you through.

Stay Grounded
Whatever you’re facing today and whatever storm is raging around you, take a pause, breathe and gently say, “Lord, thank you.” Not because everything is perfect and at peace, but because He is good. Because He is faithful. Because He is working on your behalf.

Gratitude doesn’t remove you from the storm, but it deepens your roots in God’s goodness so the storm cannot shake you.

Stay grounded by gratitude because your blessings are greater than the battle and God is greater than the storm.

And I’m glad you’re here.
