A Holy Reset

Hitting the Reset When Life Gets Overwhelming

There’s a moment every woman knows all too well—the moment when everything feels like too much. The laundry is piled high, the phone notifications are adding up, your thoughts are racing, and before you know it, your heart is carrying weight that God never intended for you to carry alone.
If that’s you right now, pause and take a deep breath.
This post is for you.

When Life Piles Up
We all go through seasons where responsibilities multiply, emotions feel heavy, and even simple tasks feel like mountains. Maybe you’re balancing work and motherhood. Maybe you’re walking through a season of healing. Maybe you’ve been pouring into others so long that you’ve forgotten what it feels like to sit at the feet of Jesus and simply rest.
Overwhelm doesn’t mean you’re weak.
It means you’re human and you’re due for a reset.

God Never Asked You to Carry This Alone
One of the most comforting truths in Scripture is this:

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28

Jesus didn’t say try harder.
He didn’t say hold it together.
He didn’t say keep pushing until you burn out.
He said come.
There is an invitation in that one word.
A gentle reminder that resetting your life doesn’t start with productivity or a new routine. It starts with His presence.

A Holy Reset
A reset in God’s arms looks different than a reset the world promotes. It isn’t about escaping life, but realigning your heart with the One who gives you strength.

Here’s what a God-centered reset might look like:
1. Pause Before You Push
Before you push past through the exhaustion and overwhelm, give yourself permission to stop. Sit in silence. Breathe. Pray.
Let God interrupt your overwhelm with His peace.

“Be still, and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10

Stillness isn’t laziness.
It’s obedience.

2. Release What You’re Carrying
Tell God what’s weighing on your mind. Tell him out loud if you can. There’s power in acknowledging your burdens and releasing them to God.
You weren’t created to be the hero of your own story.
You were created to lean on God who already knows the ending.

3. Reconnect to God

Open your Bible.
Turn on worship.
Pray.
It doesn’t have to be perfect. You just need to start.
God doesn’t need you to have it all together; He just wants your heart.

4. Reset Your Rhythm, Not Your Worth

Too many times, we believe that if we’re overwhelmed, we’re failing. But your worth isn’t tied to how well you handle life. It’s tied to God. He calls you chosen, beloved, and purposed.
As you reset, ask God to show you what needs to stay, what needs to go, and what needs to be paused. Sometimes overwhelm is the Holy Spirit nudging us toward healthier rhythms.

5. Let Grace Lead

Give yourself grace. Grace when you need rest. Grace when you need boundaries. Grace when you need time to heal. Grace when reset.

God’s mercies really are new Every. Single. Morning. That means you can start fresh every single day!

You Are Not Alone in This
The weight you’re carrying may feel heavy, but you are not carrying it alone. God is with you in every struggle, every tear, every quiet moment where your only prayer is, “Lord, I can’t do this without You.”
And here’s the most beautiful truth:
You don’t have to.
God is not asking you to be strong enough.
He’s asking you to trust that He is.

Your Reset Starts Now
If life has felt overwhelming, consider this your sign that it is time to reset. Pull back. Breathe deep. Rest in Jesus. Let Him reorder what’s chaotic and refill what’s empty.
You are wrapped in purpose.
You are held by grace.
You are worth more than rubies.
And even in the overwhelm, you are never alone.

And I’m glad you’re here.
